Linking up with Kelly at This Ain’t the Lyceum.
Head over to her blog to check out all the other Quick takes!
Kelly has asked for a link up this week about the advantages of blogging. I have to admit it is a hobby I enjoy, and has been a great opportunity to be more accountable for my faith, as well as retaining the sanity of my poor husband who would usually have to sit and listen to my random rants. Among other things, the following are some of the advantages I have discovered.
It makes sitting at the computer look purposeful, rather than the usual random surfing of Facebook.
You get to talk without being interrupted or contradicted. The ultimate soapbox. You can let off steam all from the safety of your home. No need to get covered in rotten tomatoes, just blog your opinions instead of the riskier chance of no one listening to you in real life.
You can channel your inner bossy boots into clever sequences of words that sound so reasonable and articulate.
You have a legitimate reason to wrestle your kids off the computer.
You get to laugh a lot more over the crazy life you live and the madness of the age.
You are introduced to many amazingly talented (m)others who can spread joy to others through their writing.
It’s a cheap way to travel the world.
So, what are you waiting for? Just like motherhood, any crazy person can do it.
Have a great week everyone!
